Ellis Collins

Ellis Collins in the owner of the publicized Historic Ellis’ Florist located in Vidalia, Ga. Having over 44 years of experience in the floral industry, Ellis brings a skillful talent to an ever-changing industry. Having been in the floral industry for much of his life, he has distinguished himself as a skilled designer along with being an expertise in business management.  

Ellis started his business 33 years ago and it has grown from a small store front to a featured historic landmark. He has since won the Burton Cup Interpretive Competition in 2004, Designer of the year for District III in 2005, also Georgia State Florist Association Designer of the year in 2005. In 2008, he was the winner of the Interpretive Burton Cup. He has represented Georgia in the Southern Retail floral competition held yearly in Charlotte, NC.  As an award inning designer, Ellis has provided numerous programs across the state. He is a certified Master Floral Designer through the University of Georgia. 

Current design, modern trends, yet cost efficient business practices have made Ellis one of the most successful retail florists in the area. This was the Contributing factor to Ellis’ Florist receiving the “Retail Florist of the Year” in 2008 for the state of Georgia. His retail florist and the facility he developed at his home have become rental properties for weddings, baby and wedding showers, garden club meetings, Chamber functions and the list goes on. With all these attributes, it is no wonder Georgia State Florist Association President recently referred to Ellis Collins as one of the hardest working and smartest working men in the industry.

Jim Roberts

Jim Roberts started working in the floral industry at the age of 16 He has been in the floral business for 30+ years, Jim has owned his own florist for 22+years Southern Traditions floral and gifts in Swainsboro, GA. Jim obtained His bachelor's degree in landscape Ground Management from the University of Georgia. Apart from running and operating his floral shop, he applied and was accepted as a volunteer to decorate the White House in 2019. and then was asked to serve on the executive design team of the White House in 2020, He was on the 2019 HGTV special of the White House Christmas, has been on Fox 5 Atlanta, WSAV of savannah, WJBF of Augusta, Jim has traveled the United States working as a free lance floral designer working on projects of every size, from wedding, movie premieres, political gathering, etc. Jim is involved in his community serving on many boards and is also very active in His church. His passion is designing florals to enhance and create events that are memorable and unique whether it be a wedding, celebration, or a designing florals for tribute during a funeral. He loves taking visions and bringing them to life  Jim enjoys sharing his knowledge with others, and always pushing himself to learn new things and push himself to new limits.
